Driving License Verification

Procedure of Verification/Conversion of Driving Licenses (For Pakistanis living in Victoria Only)

 All Pakistanis living in Victoria are hereby advised to adopt the following SOPs which have been agreed upon with VicRoad for verification/ conversion of Driving Licenses:

 a)     The applications for verification of driving licenses should be submitted to Pakistan High Commission, Canberra as mention below but they do not require to submit the NOC/Verification Letter from Pakistan.

b)    Upon receipt of the application, Pakistan High Commission will forward to the concerned driving license issuing authority in Pakistan for verification.

c)    The completion of the process may take up to 4-8 weeks. Please note that we have no control over replies received from license issuing authorities in various districts of Pakistan. In some cases, they take a long time to reply and we must wait for verification from their end.

d)     After receiving verification from Pakistan, Pakistan High Commission will electronically transmit a verification letter issued by the High Commission along with the verification document received from Pakistan to both VicRoad and the applicant.

e)    VicRoad will then process the document for the final conversion of Driving License and will inform the applicant thereof.

Procedure of Verification/Conversion of Driving Licenses (For Pakistanis living in NSW , WA, QLD, SA, TAS & NT)

In case of Pakistani Driving License, they should first be verified from the license issuing authorities in Pakistan by obtaining a NOC / Verification letter from them and thereafter have them attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad or its Camp Offices at Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar & Quetta and thereafter sent to High Commission or Consulate General for attestation in original.
  • All the New South Wales residents are strongly advised to apply at Consulate General of Pakistan Sydney only for their driving license verification.
  • In addition attested photocopies of the Pakistani driving license, passport, CNIC / NICOP & requisite attestation fee should also be sent.
  • Duly filled in an application submitted by the applicant personally or through register/courier mail.
  • Applicants desiring to have a letter of the authenticity of the license or requesting confirmation of name as appearing in license etc must also fill the statuary declaration signed by Notary Public or J.P. and submit the same to the High Commission or Consulate in original. This declaration would be enclosed in the letter addressed to the relevant RTA.
  • You have to attach a self-addressed return envelope if you are sending documents by post.

Mode of Payment:
  • In case of High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra, POSTAL MONEY ORDER / CERTIFIED BANK CHEQUE / BANK DRAFT in favour of "High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra".
  • In case of Consulate General of Pakistan, Sydney, all types of Credit / Debit Cards are also accepted for payment. No Cash will be accepted.
